เมื่อวันที่ 4 กันยายน 2562 ฝ่ายการเกษตร ประจำสถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครลอสแอนเจลิส ได้นำคณะผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากการท่าเรือลอสแอนเจลิส (Port of Los Angeles) และบริษัทที่ปรึกษาด้านศุลกากร (customs broker) เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะและประชุมหารือกับผู้บริหารการท่าเรือแห่งประเทศไทย เพื่อริเริ่มความสัมพันธ์กับการท่าเรือนครลอสแอนเจลิสซึ่งเป็นท่าเรือที่มีเทคโนโลยีและการบริหารจัดการที่ซับซ้อนและครอบคลุมมากที่สุดแห่งหนึ่งในทวีปอเมริกาเหนือ และในฐานะท่าเรือและด่านนำเข้าสินค้าเกษตรและอาหารจากไทยมากที่สุดของสหรัฐอเมริกา โดยผู้แทนจากท่าเรือลอสแอนเจลิสนำเสนอประสบการณ์การดำเนินงานของท่าเรือที่สามารถนำมาใช้ประโยชน์เป็นกรณีตัวอย่างการปฏิบัติที่ดี (best practice) ได้แก่ (1) การดำเนินงานเต็มรูปแบบของ  automation port (2) นโยบาย/โครงการ/แผนปฏิบัติงานด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม เช่น Clean Air Action Plan  และ (3) การบริหารจัดการในภาพรวมของท่าเรือเพื่อจัดหารายได้

On September 4, 2019, Thailand Office of Agricultural Affairs, Los Angeles (OAA-LA) led a group of experts from the Port of Los Angeles and a customs broker company to pay a courtesy call and have a meeting with the Port Authority of Thailand. The purpose of the meeting was to initiate a relationship with the Port Authority of Los Angeles, one of the most comprehensive and complex technological and managed ports in North America and as the port that imports the most agricultural and food products from Thailand. On this occasion, the representative from the Port of Los Angeles shared the port’s operating experiences that could be utilized as an example of best practice, including (1) the full implementation of an automation port (2) policies/projects/ environmental action plans, such as Clean Air Action Plan and (3) port management for generating income.
