ฝ่ายเกษตร ประจำสถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครลอสแอนเจลิส พบปะหารือกับผู้บริหารและศึกษาดูงานฟาร์มเพาะเลี้ยงกุ้งขาวของฮาวาย ณ Kauai Shrimp Farm ซึ่งตั้งอยู่บนเกาะ Kauai มลรัฐฮาวาย เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้เรื่องการเพาะเลี้ยงกุ้ง โดยฟาร์มดังกล่าวมีการอนุบาลลูกกุ้ง ไปจนถึงเพาะเลี้ยงจนลูกกุ้งโต และจำหน่ายให้กับซูเปอร์มาร์เก็ตต่างๆ ในฮาวาย โดยเน้นตลาดคุณภาพพรีเมียมกุ้งไซส์ใหญ่ในรูปแบบกุ้งแช่แข็ง ขนาดใหญ่ (13-15) และไม่ใช้สารเคมี นอกจากนี้ ยังมีการเพาะพันธุ์แม่พันธุ์กุ้งเพื่อจำหน่าย อีกทั้ง ฟาร์มฯ นำเข้าอาหารกุ้งจากไทยเพื่อใช้ในการเพาะเลี้ยงกุ้ง

     Thailand Office of Agricultural Affairs, Los Angeles (OAALA) met with the executives of Kauai Shrimp Farm and conducted a study visit their farm located on the Kauai Island, Hawaii to exchange knowledge and information on shrimp aquaculture. The farm specializes in the cultivation of Pacific white shrimp, covering the entire production cycle from hatchery and nursery operations to grow-out. Their products are supplied to supermarkets throughout Hawaii with a focus on the premium markets for large-sized frozen shrimp (Size: 13–15 count per pound) produced without the use of chemicals. In addition, the farm breeds and sells broodstock and imports shrimp feed from Thailand for use in its aquaculture operations.
